Welcome to City Seventeen to the MetroCop blog! If everything goes well, this will be a place for all matter of news about Valve, the software company, and content created by its highly dedicated and imaginative fan community.
I am known online as Mythos around various groups and communities, and I’ll be posting here whenever I can – hopefully, on a regular basis. One of my pasttimes is creating webcomics using Garry’s Mod, a sandbox game that utilizes assets from various video games, and I’ll be posting those here. I’m also trying my hand on Valve’s Source Filmmaker, a machinima tool, although it’s too early to promise anything in that regard.
I should, however, point out that I won’t simply present my own creations. Instead, I’ll be highlighting creations related to, or using, Valve’s intellectual properties, either from the company itself or from fellow fans. Naturally, I’ll also report any news regarding new games or updates as I hear from them, so this will also be a sort of news hub for Half-Life and other franchises.

I would like to add that I will, in no way, steal content from other sites for the sake of my own site. I’ll credit all sources of news and community creations and link to the original articles or posts; I’m more interested in giving my own opinion on the news than in pretending to be the first to know everything. Right now, I can already refer to the websites LambdaGeneration, Half-Life Fallout, Valve Time, Combine Overwiki and Kotaku as the outlets where I usually read my Valve-related news, so they’ll most likely be my main sources going onwards and will always be credited by me when referring to their content.

I hope you’ll like the blog and stick around to see how it goes. It’s still in its early stages, so it’s likely to have some alterations as time goes, including a better way to subscribe for updates – for now, if you want to subscribe, there are three ways. One is the RSS feed, which is available on the menu bar of the blog; another is subscribing by e-mail with the option displayed at the bottom of the page; another is using a WordPress account and selecting “Follow” at the WordPress bar displayed on top of the page. I realize these last two aren’t very intuitive, so I’ll try to figure out a way of simplifying it.

Anyway, I guess that’s that, for now – but please stick around for tomorrow, September 1st. There’s something you might like being released as a celebration of both the opening of MetroCop and my five-year anniversary as a comic maker. I hope you’ll like it!
