Comics Roundup: 09/02/2015

Funny story: I removed the “Weekly” part of this feature’s name because comics weren’t coming out on a weekly basis. Now I’ve actually managed to do these every week for a while now!

For those of you who were unable to view these comics made by others because of the Facepunch forums, good news: both of the comics this week were released on the Metrocop forums, which require no registration for you to view threads. That said, I obviously encourage you to join the discussion there and become part of this growing family!

This is what’s new this week (and oh boy, is it good):

  • 07/02/2015: The Quest #10, by Gogi. The finale to Gogi’s saga is out, bringing the quest for old comics to its conclusion, as well as making this the first complete Garry’s Mod comic series in years. Don’t expect it to always make sense, but do expect to be overwhelmingly entertained.
  • 08/02/2015: Why We Fight, by Jim_Riley. Jim_Riley is another extremely talented old-schooler who wanted to show his support for Metrocop by releasing this serious short comic. It’s dark and somewhat depressing, but really great and incredibly well executed.

I like how this weekend showcased two wildly contrasting genres and styles, which really shows the flexibility that Garry’s Mod (or Source Filmmaker) comic making allows. I have my hopes up for this week, but even if the community members take their time preparing some more fantastic content, at least you can expect yours truly to release something this Friday! Expect more news on that as the week rolls.

See ya soon, and remember to check the forums!
