Comics Roundup: 04/09/2015

Hello, guys! How are you enjoying the new layout so far? Response seems to have been very positive!

Of course, a shiny new layout doesn’t matter without any actual content, but thankfully, our awesome community on the forums has been hard at work to bring you some cool stuff. Check it out:

  • 20/08/2015: Conflict: Ban Ops Issue 1, by Arctic Avenger. Our resident comic archeologist has brought another oldie back, this time one of his own, a short comic depicting what happened when Nemi was made Moderator of PHW. Oh, and if you’re wondering why the name sounds familiar, that’s because Arctic has already re-released Issue 2 on a previous occasion.
  • 24/08/2015: The Slightly More Sophisticated Comic #3-#7, by Mac. Another re-release by Arctic Avenger, comprising four issues of a comedy series by prolific comic maker Mac from the PHW days. If you were around back in the day, expect to see some very familiar (perskin) faces starring here!
  • 02/09/2015: Jack Hunter, by BenWolfe. Yet another Arctic re-release, this one comes from the same PHW contest that gave us Jim_Riley’s Frank O’Hara. This action-packed comic stars the eponymous protagonist and his pet cat Fuzz as they fight off a home invasion. Unfortunately, some pages are missing, but what’s left is still highly enjoyable.
  • 03/09/2015: Soft Power: Issue 10, by PypeBomb. PypeBomb’s ongoing saga hits the two-digits mark, proving he’s far more productive than other “active” comic makers (I’m looking at you… er, me). Events on the Kingdom of Zhong escalate as CMC wages a media war and the US Government tries to capture Sato Island, leading to the entrance of the CIA’s black operators, Liberty’s Recon. There’s also a Fox News joke in there.

As I mentioned before, I’m considering stopping the Comics Roundups altogether and just announcing new releases on the forums as they come, but considering I had a backlog of Arctic Avenger re-releases to mention and two comics came out in two days, I figured I’d at least make one more. I have yet to make a final decision on that, but I welcome your opinion, so feel free to leave it on the comments section below.

In the meantime, we have a Metrocop Team Fortress 2 match scheduled for later and, as I also previously noted, I’m going to be talking about Hercule Cubbage soon as I feel I owe people an explanation. So stay tuned to the new Metrocop!

  1. I like the comic roundups, even if they’re sometimes infrequent or insubstantial. Mostly because it’s nice having it pop up in my rss feed with the rest of my webcomics. Makes it feel more like gmod comics are coming back having the news post updates.
