Continent 4Episode 1: Lee Calvert

A rebel approaches a Resistance medic, asking if he wanted to see him. The medic calls him Lt and thanks God he's finally there. The doc explains he's on his last medkit and needs someone to go to Station 4 to pick up supplies. Lt points out that Civil Protection are starting to patrol around there, but the medic simply points out they need those supplies. Lt heads out, walking past a rotting corpse on his way out. He jumps down and picks up his gun when he overhears Civil Protection radio chatter. When he turns a corner, however, he's surprised by two metro cops and a Civil Protection officer, who smiles and says gotcha, then tells Lt to drop the gun.

The officer aims his gun at Lt's head, who is lying on the ground, and tells him if he has a God, he suggests he start praying. However, he is interrupted when a metro cop tells him the Inspector General is coming. The officer asks how far away the General is and the officer points out he's right behind him. The officer curses under his breath and says hello, sir. The Inspector General angrily asks the officer what he is doing. The officer replies he's clearing the streets of some scum and the General tells him that's not how they do things, they detain and interrogate and they're beyond this. The officer points out with all due respect that half the people they detain escape before interrogation, but the General insists that they follow the rules and orders them to bring the suspect in. The officer tells his sergeant he heard the general and they move out. After a brief inspection of the area, the Inspector General tells the men they're getting out of this hellhole.

As the Inspector General comments on how the area has become a haven ever since the Administrator declared this area unlivable, he spots something that stops him on his tracks, namely, an old baby doll on a chair. His lieutenant asks if there's something wrong and the Inspector General replies that he needs to go to the bathroom. The lieutenant comments that he has got to be kidding him, but the General states that if he gets to be his age, he'll understand, and orders him to stay there. The inspector turns a corner as his lieutenant radios in the reason for delay. The general comes across a rebel woman, who smiles and greets him, calling him Lee. Lee tells her she's got a lot of nerve calling him twice in one day. Lee protests that he saved one of her top officer's lives today and sarcastically asks if she needs his hand cannon too. The rebel woman, Sarah, tells him it's much more important and explains that the rebels got wind of a Civil Protection raid on a base outside of City 22 and her boss wants to know the details. Lee refuses, telling her he's under constant guard as it is and on thin ice right now. Sarah tells him it's important and asks him to do it for her if not for her boss. Lee complains that Sarah's personal favors kill him and starts to tell her something.

Sarah interrupts Lee by shouting look out and taking out her handgun. She shoots and kills two metro cops behind Lee. As the corpses' radios notify the rest of Civil Protection, Lee comments crap. Sarah asks if they were his men and he confirms it, telling her that he has to report this right now. Panicking, she asks what she should do. Lee tells her to run. Lee gets up and starts to leave, radioing Dispatch that he has just been attacked by an unknown assailant, description, Caucasian female. Over the radio, someone confirms the order and tells him they are sending a rescue team right now. The narration states that he is Lee Calvert, a senior officer in the Civil Protection and also a traitor. End of episode 1.
