An older man at the City 17 trainstation says don't drink the water. Sitting opposite him is Master Chief, who stares at him for quite a while before replying he wasn't planning on it.

Master Chief stares at the train timetables and asks a man nearby if those are the new battlezones, noting that the names aren't very creative before asking the man if he remembers Blood Gulch. In response, the man monologues about the trains departing and never arriving but always leaving. The man starts to wander as he questions how are they arriving if they keep departing and if they never arrive how do they keep departing, while Chief says that at least the old names were pretty cool, listing Zanzibar and Hang 'Em High. He comments that it makes you wonder what happened to the world.

Chief reminisces about that one time he was in the Warthog with his cousin in Blood Gulch while the monologuing man walks around the station posing a mathematical problem of two trains. The older man angrily asks him if he didn't listen. Chief notes that he misses his cousin as the man arrives next to him again, still monologuing. Chief rethorically asks how he was supposed to know rocket launchers literally launched rockets as the man asks if they depart how do they arrive and where. The end.
