Rosetta FallenChapter 4: The Hove Lily and the Unholy Gospel Part 2

Emma sorrowfully tells a woman with a mark in the form of a crescent moon in her face that she trusted Samuel, they all trusted him. The woman, Cynthia, tells her it's okay and there's absolutely no way she could have known. Sitting nearby, Rosetta tells herself that they keep killing each other. Cynthia puts a hand on Emma's face and tells her Samuel was just like the rest of the Godsent; they will do whatever they must to get what they want. Emma tells her she knew the man for almost two years and not once did she suspect him of being a rat. Cynthia asks if they knew about Emma, to which she replies no. Cynthia tells her let's take this outside as she needs to get some fresh air. Meanwhile, in the chopper, Nathan and Thomas sit together as they head back to the Vault with the Godsent team. Thomas reflects on John's words and tells Nathan they have to make sure to get to them first. On the surface, Cynthia tells Emma that now that Rosetta is with them, the Godsent are going to try harder than ever to stop them and John isn't going to stop until he's drinking her blood and declaring himself a messiah. She points out that the Vault is within their reach and if they leave now they can make it before nightfall, that is, as long as time doesn't stop again. With a hint of a smile, she adds that she doesn't think that's going to be happening again any time soon. They then hear the sound of an incoming helicopter. As she stares at it, Emma asks rethorically if they're not going to let up, to which Cynthia says no, and neither are they. She calls it their war now and says to show them who they're dealing with. They hide from the approaching chopper. Emma looks to the side and notices Cynthia having her hellripper out. The helicopter lands and the Godsent team exits and starts reconnaissance. Discreetly, Nathan tells Thomas they don't want to blow their cover and to only kill those guys if they strike first, and if they can get Rosetta and Emma out of there. One of the Godsent, Greg, tells the rest they're going to enter through the garage and secure the perimeter, then, they'll search for Samuel and Elliot. Another Godsent tells him to look out; on a catwalk above them is Cynthia holding a hellripper grenade. As they spot her, she throws it below, leading Greg to scream to get down. The grenade falls right on his lap and explodes, obliterating him. The other Godsent shouts to get in the helicopter, but Nathan simply stares at him. The man asks what they're doing and to do it quickly before she preps another one, but Nathan points his hellripper at him and simply says no, then tells him to get out. Later, Emma rushes to Thomas' arms as she calls out his name, then asks with a smile if he knows what it's been like without him, saying that she's seen more things explode in the past ten hours than she has in her entire life. As Cynthia holds the Godsent grunt prisoner, Rosetta asks how she can trust them when they do the same thing as their enemy. Rosetta states she has listened to everything they have said and now she sees she has no reason to believe a word they say. Cynthia retorts they're not the ones trying to kill her and that those people's God does, then asks Cynthia if their God exists.

Rosetta replies no. Thomas hugs Emma and tells her he will never leave her side. Cynthia asks the Godsent, Fred, if he heard that and repeats that his God doesn't exist. Fred refuses this and calls the angel a whore and a liar who wishes to derail their holy song. Thomas tells Emma that nothing else matters as he holds her. Cynthia asks Fred if his God doesn't exist, then who sent him. Fred replies John. As she holds a hellripper to the back of his head, Cynthia tells him that's right, confirming it was John and not God. Then, Rosetta holds Cynthia's arm down, telling her no, no more killing. Fred is handcuffed to the helicopter as the group leaves for the Vault. End of chapter four.
