Worse than LifeMeeting new people.

The narrator calls out to AJ Rimmer, calling him a loser, and telling him to let go of that bottle and get out of his shitty apartment to meet some new people. Rimmer complains that he is not good with people, to which the narrator replies to look at it this way, he has nothing to lose. At the apartment mailboxes, Rimmer greets a female neighbor, who stares at a parcel and says it's addressed to people who do not want to get to know the creepy guy from upstairs, then adds that it's addressed to her. The narrator tells Rimmer that maybe he will have better luck outside. At the plaza, Rimmer starts to greet a woman, who raises a hand and tells him sorry, buddy, she is gay. He tries to tell her he is not looking for that but she repeats the word gay. Rimmer tries to greet a man afterwards, but he tells him sorry, buddy, he is not gay. Rimmer tries to say he isn't either, but the man cuts him off by stating don't ask, don't tell. Rimmer then tries to greet another man passing by, who tells him if he ever gets that bored, he'll kill himself. Rimmer sits down at the bench and pouts, saying fuck this. The narrator asks if he is giving up so soon and Rimmer retorts on what he means with so soon, stating he has been out there for two hours and six people spat on him. As Rimmer says that nothing good is gonna come out of this, a girl sits next to him and introduces herself as Jane, then invites Rimmer to her apartment. Rimmer freezes, then looks over at her and they both leave as the girl gropes his ass and the narrator speaks to the reader, saying that if you take a few chances, you're gonna get a happy ending. Then the narrator says yeah, right, and we cut to AJ Rimmer screaming in a flooded basement surrounded by a corpse, a skull and a shovel. The end.
