In a flashback, we see Lt_Commander and Nirrti arguing if they can trust the Other Side's Rusty when they hear someone moaning close by. They find the Other Side's Mini and Lt_C notes it looks like he's been tortured. Lt_C tells Mini it's going to be alright. Mini looks up at him and calls him Commander, then says he knew he would come and reveals they caught him spying for him. He tells them they broke his legs and his fingers but he didn't tell them anything and his plan is safe with him. Mini notes he had his doubts that the Commander would really come like he said, but here he is. Lt_C looks at Nirrti and notes there's C4 on Mini's chest. Nirrti retorts yep. Lt_C asks run like hell. Nirrti says yep. As they run out, Nirrti whines that Rusty helps people, Lt_C said. Lt_C tells him now's not the time, but Lt_C repeats if you can't trust Rusty then who can you trust, Lt_C said. The Other Side's Rusty sets off the explosions as Lt_C and Nirrti cover their ears behind some rubble, protected from the blast.
Close by, Wraithcat tells the original Bloocobalt and Rusty that they're too late and their friends are dead. As Wraithcat leads them to their safehouse, Bloocobalt asks her how she can be sure. She tells him she's not, but she just knows Rusty wouldn't blow half their munitions if he didn't have a good reason. Inside, Rusty is smiling in relief that it's finally over. Wraithcat asks if he's in there. Nirrti tells Lt_Commander he told him so and Lt_C relents that he was right, but says to just focus on getting out of there without letting them know. Wraithcat enters the room and tells Rusty it's not a time to celebrate and that she knows he thinks he just saved them, but he may have stopped their best chance to stop the Berets. Rusty retorts he thinks killing the Commander did the job pretty well, but asks how did she know that's what he did. Wraithcat tells him she's got some new friends she'd like him to meet and it'll make more sense then. Meanwhile, Taggart notes look at what we have there as he spots Lt_C and Nirrti walking toward him knee-deep in water. Lt_C greets him while Nirrti asks what he's doing there. Standing next to an armored vehicle, Taggart replies he thought they could use the help and by the look of that house they just ran from, he'd say he was right. He tells them to get in, they're going to meet up with Rusty and Bloocobalt. The Other Side's Rusty tells his Wraithcat that there's no one that can convince him that killing the two most hated people on the planet wasn't a good thing. A voice asks how about me.
As Bloocobalt radios their location to Taggart in the background, the original Rusty enters the room and tells the Other Side's Rusty if he can't believe himself, he might as well stop listening. As Taggart drives, Lt_Commander tells him it's a good thing he decided to jump over, then asks where'd he get the jeep. Taggart explains they managed to send through some larger objects since they got there. Nirrti asks why use an old model jeep, noting he thought they decommissioned all of these. Taggart replies no reason to ruin a perfectly good vehicle on a test. Elsewhere, the other Rusty finishes hearing the explanation and asks so they're from another world. The original Rusty says yeah, he may look and sound like him, but they are quite different. He exemplifies by noting that Nirrti and Lt_C escaped the trap the other Rusty was sure would kill them and he would never be so arrogant to think something so obvious would actually work. The other Rusty says he's made his point. Lt_C, Taggart and Nirrti then enter. Lt_C jokes look who's back from the dead and Nirrti admonishes him that that guy just tried to kill him and he opens with a joke. The other Rusty says well, now that they are all there and completely ignorant of this world, he supposes now would be a good time to clue them in. He states the world they've managed to discover is a good bit different than theirs. He tells them that, besides them, there are the standard highway bandits, who have no alliances, live fast and die hard, and Rusty and the rest are the organized resistance against the Commander's forces, the hospital being a research center where they were trying to gather as much intel against him as they can, at least until the cyborg ruined everything. Rusty explains they're attacking the main base of the Commander, whose ranks include the worst traitors to Humanity, chief among them Commandant Minimole, the head of the Commander's personal guard. Rusty states if it was just his forces that they were up against he'd be happy, as Minimole may be evil but he thinks he's invincible and Rusty has a 45 caliber counter-point to that idea. Rusty says what worries him are the Commander's sleeper agents, people in Rusty's own cells that really report to the Commander himself. Rusty reveals they've already met two, one had some C4 strapped to his chest, but the other they just found out made off with their robot: the other Bloocobalt's aide.
The Other Side's Rusty tells the Beret Brothers if they still want the cyborg back, they'll have to go against the Commander's army and help them in the process. Lt_Commander tells the rest of the Brothers he says they help them. Bloocobalt notes they are talking about his counterpart there. Lt_C says it's not like the Commander's somebody he'd like to meet. The original Rusty notes that they're talking about Nirrti's counterpart too. Nirrti states plainly that anyone that lets something like this happen deserves to die and he suggests they go in and offer up some blood for the Blood God. Bloocobalt asks how they are going to get to them. The other Rusty says they can help with that, as they were planning a frontal assault, but that can act as a diversion for them to get in. Wraithcat notes that the idea that this could be the last battle will be a strong motivator for their fighters. Taggart reveals he managed to download their base schematics in case something like this came up. The other Rusty says it's settled and that, within 48 hours, the last Beret Brothers will be dead. Moments later, Nirrti asks Wraithcat if he can borrow a PK general-purpose machine gun that was in there. Wraithcat tells him he can have it and Nirrti replies she just made his whole week.
