JeffEpisode #26: The Strider

Jeff is reading a newspaper in the City 17 trainstation, then goes out into the plaza. He stops agape at the sight of a massive Combine strider walking by. Jeff decides there and then to try riding a Strider. He walks next to its feet and wonders how to get up. He first attempts to climb a leg and almost reaches the top, but then slips and falls down hard.

On the floor, Jeff notes he needs a better way up the Strider. Later, as the Strider stays on the street, Jeff leaps from the trainstation's roof to try and get on top of the Strider, but notes it isn't working out as he intended as he grossly miscalculates the distance and misses entirely, falling once more to the ground with a crunching sound. Later still, he gets on top of the electric post and reasons that he can walk across the highly dangerous eletrical wires to hop onto the Strider. He takes one step and is immediately electrocuted, falling to the floor sizzling. He later approaches the Strider's leg and kicks it, cursing the Strider. The Strider immediately lowers its head, scaring Jeff.

The Strider remains motionless as Jeff realizes what just happened and gets frustrated. He climbs onto the Strider and gets into its head, saying he is gonna pick up some chicks with that ride. The women on the street just run away screaming from the Strider, though. The Strider-Jeff approaches a man who calls him by name, and he says what's up, Clive. Clive calls the Strider a sweet ride and asks for a high five.

Jeff tries to high-five Clive and instead stabs right through him with the Strider's massive leg. Jeff says aw crap and tries to flee the scene of the crime, but the Strider trips over a can on the floor. The massive tripod creature falls on the ground and Jeff asks for help getting up. A nearby metro cop, Geremy Tibbles, says I'll save you, then approaches the can, picks it up and happily leaves. Still inside the Strider, Jeff notes he needs to go to the bathroom. The end.

I love how Clive is the only non-background character who, as far as I can tell, has had their death stick, he was probably only created for the gag, but still, the one canon-death in the totally deep Jeff Lore
