The Last WarDark Intentions

Vitalij's Korean ally Choi calls him a fool and tells him he underestimated the power of Kenshin's soldiers. He adds that that's not the only reason Vitalij's plan went wrong, as X-Sus provided the European Union with information about where he would strike. Choi asks Vitalij if he knows why the numbers of his great army have not run over Finland and says it's the War-Ministers, the only ones with greater influence than generals. He tells Vitalij the European Union stands steady on its feet because of morale, the likes of which haven't been seen since Napoleon, then asks Vitalij if he knows how to remove this power source. Vitalij tentatively replies by taking out the War-Ministers, to which Choi says precisely, explaining that get rid of them and their army weakens, but noting that it is not an easy task, as they are shy and know a lot about avoiding death, but still they are there, on the battlefield. Growing impatient, Vitalij shouts enough, admitting to Choi his failure but swearing he is not a man who makes the same mistake twice. He asks for Choi's support and questions how he's supposed to get rid of the War-Ministers. Choi calls it a good question and wonders what can possibly take them out, then tells Vitalij not to worry, he will create what he needs.
A year passes. In his base, Vitalij works on a weapon that will knock out the European Union's remaining scanning system, X-Sus. Meanwhile, Choi works to make sure Simon will not disrupt Vitalij's next move. Choi stands in front of a table with a female body lying on it. An assistant tells him she is ready for surgery. Choi replies let us begin. Many hours later, the woman is covered from neck to toe in a large black suit. A computer system starts running a program called Vita. Then, the female awakens. She stares up in confusion, then cringes from pain. Choi's voice then says check in, to which the female reacts sitting up in surprise. Staring at her alongside Vitalij, Choi notes that she reacted to his voice and that means her hearing is okay. Choi tells Vitalij something like this has never been done before until now, but Vitalij scoffs that an android is going to take care of Simon and tells Choi he thought he was serious.
Choi asks that Vitalij does not underestimate her, saying he strongly believes she will be useful. He calls the gynoid Viktoriya and tells her to not fear her new body and to please try to stand up now. She does so and stands in front of Choi. He tells her very well done and calls her a good girl. He then walks away a few steps, turns and tells her to try to walk to him. She stares dumbfounded at her own feet. Vitalij notes she's just standing there and seems buggy, but Choi brushes it off, telling him to give her some time to get used to her new body. She then winces and falls back down, as Choi calls her name. Choi comments that it seems she is not used to her new weight yet and mutters that it's understandable. Vitalij sarcastically calls it brilliant and asks if Choi thinks he can train her to a useable level. Choi asks for one month. Vitalij replies as you wish.
The second of December, 2015. The day when Russia entered the deep forests of Finland with haste. Russia's advantage was their incredible amount of military units and everyone feared the worst for the future of the European Union. However, the conquering of Finland's ground did not suceed. The roads were overgrown by the vegetation. It decreased the speed of the invasion. Enough to make use of Kenshin's hidden dagger tactic, the tactic that converts a firefight into a deadly game of hide and seek. After barely a day of fighting, Russia already suffered heavy loss of men and decided to retreat. Europa had won more time. From that day, Russia isolated themselves completely and started to reorganize tactics and strategies. This chapter follows Europa's remaining ministers of war, one year after the battle of Finland.
Next to a large tank, a New Soviet soldier reports on the radio to HQ that they have located the Croatian outpost, then replies yes, comrade and consider it done, comrade. He connects Viktoriya to the tank and tells her she knows what to do. She stands facing the Croatian outpost, calculating coordinates in her artificial brain, then sends the data to the tank. The tank's weapons raise and fire, hitting all buildings in the outpost with deadly accuracy.
Later, the New Soviet troops approach the rubble of the Croatian outpost. The commander tells them to wait as he thinks he sees something over there. He realizes it's a tripod-mounted gun and shouts at everybody to get down. The weapon starts firing, killing at least two soldiers. Another Croatian rebel then shows up next to the crumbled wall with a rifle. A New Soviet soldier, pinned down, complains of the stupid ass tank motherfucker and orders it to do something now. The tank fires a shell.
The tank's shell completely obliterates the wall. The tank's smaller gun keeps firing shots as it approaches more rubble, behind which is a soldier with a rocket-propelled grenade launcher, who declares they may have lost but they should at least take out one of those tanks. He peeks out of cover, shouts take this and fires the RPG at the tank. The rocket hits the tank but simply bounces off and into the ground. The soldier mumbles in shock that it bounced, then is killed by the tank's small gun.
At the overwatch headquarters in Bog's Dijete, war-minister Marco reacts in shock at being attacked everywhere and demands an explanation. On the screen, one of his colonels confirms that Russian forces are attacking their outposts along the border and requests reinforcements as soon as possible. Marco tells the colonel of course and starts to say he will send them right away, but is cut off as the colonel screams to watch out for the reactor. The lights suddenly go dark at Marco's office. After a moment, Marco shouts to turn on the fucking backup reactors, calling his men goof-heads. In the bright red light of the backup, Marco states that Vitalij dares to confront him after all and that he won't get far, oh no. Elsewhere, at an unknown location within the abandoned forests of Finland, Swedish troops are performing training exercises with their stealth tanks as Karl watches. A truck pulls over and Kenshi climbs out of it, then approaches Karl. He tells Karl greetings, but Karl doesn't react. Kenshin asks hello and puts his hand on Karl's shoulder, surprising him. Karl tells him hello there and apologizes that he didn't see him coming. Kenshin retorts that he didn't hear him either and asks if he's gone deaf. Karl then takes off his earplugs and explains that he was just watching a few troops from his second stealth-pansardivision practising, noting that he's keeping his army warmed up just in case. Kenshin repeats just in case and notes that that's why he's here, commenting that if Karl just brought his cellphone with him, he didn't have to come here in person, to which Karl replies that he did, he just didn't hear it. Kenshin goes serious as he tells Karl that Marco reported Russian forces have been attacking his outposts in Bog's Dijete since dawn, adding that O'Maley is aiding him and they should be able to handle it for now. Kenshin tells Karl that's why he's here, to inform and warn him, adding that X-Sus' messages tell them that more enemy forces are coming, but they don't know where they'll strike.
Kenshin asks Karl what he thinks and Karl replies that it's disturbing. Kenshin agrees, but interrogates Karl as to why. Karl notes that Russia fears Bog's Dijete because Marco's terrain is simply too difficult, then realizes that the attack can't be serious and must be a feint, so Russia's target must be a weaker territory military-wise like Balticum. Kenshin agrees and asks if they shall go. Meanwhile, the fighting continues over at Bog's Dijete. At New Riga, capital of Latvia, Simon gets information from Karl and Kenshin that Russian forces have started to attack the borders of Bog's Dijete. Simon reacts in shock and asks when. They tell him it started that morning and that Bog's Dijete had some trouble sending the warning due to power failure. They add that they believe Bog's Dijete is not the real target and that the New Soviet Union is probably after Balticum. Simon asks if that's so and Karl tells him they don't have any time and he and Kenshin will aid him with his troops. Karl requests a landing spot for their helicopter, promising they'll be with him in this afternoon. After a moment, Karl asks if Simon is there, to which he reacts saying sorry, yes, and that he will prepare his troops immediately. Karl tells him good and to just hang on then, then cuts off comms. Simon stares at the radio for a moment, then picks up his military hat and puts it on, saying let them come and that he is not afraid. Over the Baltic Sea's air territory, Karl and Kenshin's helicopter flies protected by fighter jets. Both Karl and Kenshin are on the radio with their respective troops, giving orders. Karl then tries to get in touch with X-Sus, who responds with good morning or good evening or good night, noting that everything is the same in space. Karl asks if he can tell them what's going on from up there. X-Sus explains that, as they know, Bog's Dijete is being attacked by a constant flow of heavy Russian Forces. He notes that he has also detected activity on Russian airports and many transports from Korea, but that there are several divisions of heavy and light Russian and Korean forces doing nothing just a few miles from Balticum's borders. He tells Karl their theory is most likely correct and the current attack is a feint, the main attack having not begun yet, but adding that it will soon and telling them they must hurry, because if Balticum falls, Russia will have an advantage. Karl grumbles that he can't determine anything from just words and asks if X-Sus has a map or illustration of what he just said. X-Sus tells him yes and to please hold on a sec.
X-Sus sends over a map that shows Russian forces moving in force onto the Bog's Dijete border. X-Sus starts to explain but interrupts himself as he detects something on his radar. A missile is seen flying away from Earth, with X-Sus confusedly noting that Russia has launched another rocket, but this one seems aimed at him. Karl dismisses this, telling X-Sus they don't have time for silly rockets and to just shoot it down so that he can continue the scanning process. X-Sus retorts that he is not dumb and tells him to just hold on as he deals with it. The space station's laser turns on and aims towards the missile, with X-Sus telling them laser is charged and ready and will fire as soon as the rocket is in range. X-Sus starts counting down but is cut off at three when the rocket explodes itself all of a sudden in the middle of space. X-Sus reacts in shock and then asks what type of shockwave is that. Karl tries to ask what's going on and X-Sus starts to tell him that it's not a regular rocket but electromagnetic when he's cut off entirely as communications go down. Karl tries to talk to X-Sus and then throws the headset down in anger, exclaiming jävla skit.
Later, the helicopter lands in Balticum, where Simon is already waiting for them with a bodyguard. Karl and Kenshin climb out and Simon greets them, to which Karl greets him in return, then tells him the situation is far worse than planned, explaining that they have lost contact with X-Sus in space, meaning they no longer have any scanning systems left and so don't have a clue when or where Russia will strike. Simon replies that's horrible news and asks if they have any plan. Karl tells him that, as far as he understands it, this is a signal that the attack will commence soon. He adds that reinforcements from Sweden and Finland are on their way, but they need at least another day before they can make it there. As Karl says that right now they need to prepare for the worst, he suddenly hears something. Simon tells him he heard it as well. Simon shouts that it's coming from the eastern forest and runs off. Karl shouts at him to wait. They make their way towards a clearing and stare upwards in shock, as Simon mumbles not now. Simon's bodyguard catches up to them and admonishes Simon for running off like that, telling him he has a responsibility to protect him, but goes quiet as he sees what they are seeing. New Soviet military planes carrying armor are flying over them as they speak. Simon orders that his troops prepare the anti-air units immediately. End of part 4.
