At Nova Prospekt, a Combine prison guard sighs. His colleague asks what's up. The first guard replies he's just bored, is all, and that nothing seems to happen around there.

The second Combine prison guard asks what the first is talking about, stating that lots of stuff happens around there. The first guard replies sure, maybe a few things, like a minor antlion attack now and then. We see a flashback of an antlion guard killing a Combine guard as another runs for his life screaming sweet mother of mercy. The guard continues to list situations, like the occasional zombie wandering in, as we see a horde of headcrab zombies attacking the prison while a guard holds a melon and his coworker shouts at him to just give them the melon, to which the guard holding the melon replies that it's his. The first soldier complains they rarely get to interrogate a prisoner, as we see a Vortigaunt catch fire in an interrogation chair while a Combine prison guard asks where his precious Free Man is now. The first prison guard adds that their patrols go on without a hitch.

We see a Combine prison guard patrolling Nova Prospekt when he slips on a can in a staircase. The Combine soldier falls forward and screams for help as he falls over the railing and into the electrocuted water below, as two other guards watch calmly and one says poor Phil. The Combine prison guard from earlier calls the place just too damn boring, to which his coworker asks where else would he want to be if not there.

The first Combine prison guard replies that he would like to work at the train yard because they get all the fun. The other prison guard asks what do they get to do. Cut to a Combine guard riding a train at full speed while holding on with his arms and screaming yeah. The first guard adds that he wouldn't mind this place half as much if they didn't have an old coot for a commanding officer. In another scene, a Combine elite schools two prison guards, telling them that in his day they didn't have any fancy-shmancy motto-attic rifles. A guard corrects him that they're called automatic rifles, then, after a moment of silence, repeats the word sir.

The prison guard realizes their commanding officer may have fallen asleep. Another guard asks really and touches the snoozing commanding officer, who falls back to the ground, snoring loudly. The guards look at each other and one asks if he's thinking what he's thinking. The other replies he bet. Cut to the two of them atop a watchtower looking down. One says yeah, he bounced, then tells his coworker he owes him twenty bucks. The coworker replies goddamnit. The scene goes back to the earlier two prison guards, with the second telling the first that if it makes him feel any better, he has an idea that might make things a little more interesting. The first simply asks oh, really.

An hour later, the commanding officer is walking around Nova Prospekt, asking loudly where in tarnation those damn whipper-snappers are and saying he needs someone to complain to. A guard then stops him from progressing, telling him he can't let him through because there's a zombie loose, but they have the situation under control. The officer scolds him, telling him in his day they played in the streets while zombies were about.

The commanding officer declares that it will take a lot more than a zombie to stop him. Suddenly, a zombie leaps out and roars at him. The officer grabs his own neck with a gasping sound and falls down. Standing next to the zombie, the Combine prison guard starts laughing. The other guard approaches him and asks what's so funny. The first guard replies that the other gave their commanding officer a heart attack and he's dead, then continues laughing.

The other prison guard rubs his head and asks if he did. Confused, the first guard asks if he didn't, to which the second asks how could he, he just got back from taking a dump. The other guard asks if it wasn't him, then who, and looks to his side. The zombie standing next to them growls friendily. Cut to the two guards running from the zombie chasing them, one screaming to call security and the other answering that they are security. The end.
